Going on loan to Luton Town apparently. Obviously not thought to be up to it by people at the club?

He's this season's Wellington Paulista.

Why couldn't Elliot Lee be given a chance?

I think given the option of Nene and Amalfitano starting, I'd personally prefer the latter.

I'm excited by this, if he still has the legs and at 33 I dont see why not, he may be the spark we need to get going again....

It's being reported the Gignac on a free has been agreed. He'll join in the summer. (his agent is Willie McKay). CFC will not be offered a new deal.

Here's a prediction.
If the fat man is forced to play him, he will walk out and sue Sullivan for constructive dismissal.
This mess is boiling up slowly but surely and it's not going to end well.

Allardyce's mate Brazil is already stirring things up by saying if he does leave the club, West Ham will struggle in the bottom half next season. I suppose if we get in a crap replacement that will happen. It's up to the Daves to prevent that happening of course with no more Avram Grants being on their wish list.

Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
As others have said, there is no downside here. Worst case he doesn't play a single minute and it's like he wasn't here. Best case he gets fit in about 2-4 weeks and makes competition for Enner.

More likely is he gets a few splinters becomes our wildcard from the bench, takes some good freekicks and corners, and scores a couple of consolation goals.

I am readying myself already to hear from the Fat Man how he, "Hasn't played this pace of game before, needs a full 6 week preseason, will be integrated slowly, but we'll get him fit and have a look at him."

Pretty sure after their periods of being out Nolan and Carroll's 'full preseason' turned into a couple of behind closed doors friendlies and 'get yourselves out their boys'...all about motivation to select I guess.

Would love to one day know what kickback Allardyce was getting from players signed through Curtis!

BFS won't play him

A midfield of Song, kouyate, Downing and Nene would certainly be interesting. Song playing further forward, cheikho as the holding midfielder. Song would relish that.

8...

Sullivan will Insist on him playing...apparently on 100k a week...

Can't see BFS getting away with not playing him...

You're expecting the sophisticated one to play him?

Texas Iron 8:33 Thu Feb 19
Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
Just seen the long video....excellent technique...hammer of a left foot...great free kicks...

If he gets match fit quickly...could be a boost to the team....

Mildly Optimistic...

I'll tell you what his current fitness abilities are.

He hasn't played recently.

Thought Sullivan said..."...a Striker is Flying in..."
Nene is a Winger...and has a good history...

Goodness knows what his fitness and current abilities are,...

Yet another Transfer Window wasted...

We all predicted Carroll would not last until May...

And obviously Levy would not loan us Adebayor...

Amateurs yet again...

Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
This signing is fair enough. So he's 33.

I would be gutted if we'd put him on a long, high wage deal but we haven't. He's only here for 3 months initially so we've not got much to lose with this deal.

Madconvict 4:53 Thu Feb 19
Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
Well you can complain all day, the fact of the matter is if the complete fuckwit of a manager utilised Zarate and played him and therefore keep him; we would be down to bare bones. If you believed Carroll wasn't going to get a injury you are as thick as a Yid.

Nene is a option because Cole,Nolan and not long after Noble are ready for the glue factory.Yes he is a star of old, but he can dribble, place a pass and score from a free kick.

Sydney_Iron 4:43 Thu Feb 19
Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
I cant see the point of this, and unless Carlton gets crocked which doesn’t happen very often he will be 4th choice with Sam i bet, should have given a few of the youngsters an opportunity, we are far enough ahead to stay out of the relegation scrap and although I would love to be proven wrong, I honestly cant see us challenging for a European spot.

Monk~koknee 4:37 Thu Feb 19
Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
In the circumstances the only option was an out of contract player so choice was limited.

Agreed it was bad planning to be left with two fit strikers and a carthorse after the injury prone one got injured again but there you have it. At least Nene used to be good unlike Carlton.

Re: Nene passes his medical - Signed
Signing a player because they 'use' to be good is never a good idea and rarely works. Two bob cunts.
